1ST SATURDAY BLOCK OF THE MONTH - SANTA'S VILLAGE
This is a charming Christmas quilt complete with the jolly old elf himself. 12" pieced blocks surround the center applique, with a final border of trees and houses. The block of the month program will consist of the 12 - 12" blocks. A finishing kit will be available around August (or before if requested) to finish the wallhanging, and will be priced separately. You can choose either a primitive color scheme using a paper bag colored muslin, or a traditional color scheme using an off white solid. Primitive colors will be a bit darker than the traditional selections. Club meetings will be the 1st Saturday of each month at 9am or the following Tuesday at 1pm. You can come to either session throughout the year. If you attend the session with your completed previous month's block, you will receive your next month's fabrics free of charge. If you cannot attend either session, pay only $5 for the kit, and complete the block for the next month's session.
Cost for complete pattern and to start the BOM - $30. Sign up asap to get the pattern for the Jan. meeting. (You can start anytime up until the February meeting for the $30 fee.) For a picture of the quilt go to www.thimblecreek.com and click on Block of the Month programs, and then select Santa's Village.

PRAIRIE WOMAN'S SEWING CIRCLE

Doesn't that sound charming and like something you'd like to join??? We invite you to join us every 3rd Thursday of the month to learn a little history about our foremothers and the sewing projects they did. Take a step back in time, enjoy no stress, some light refreshments, and great friendships with Brenda, who will lead us on our first Journey. Gather together as the Prairie Women did, and hear anecdotal stories about their quiltmaking, and what daily life was like for those who traveled by wagon train on the Oregon Trail, to the lives of quilters during the Civil War, and the years of women's suffrage for equal rights. Not only will you learn how our quilting ancestors created quilts by "making-do" with what they had, you will be invited to do so yourself!!! At each monthly gathering of the Prairie Women's Sewing Circle, you will receive a small reproduction quilt project pattern that will allow you the option to share in their unique 'make-do' quilting experience with fellow club members. Montly patterns and other surprises will be offered to PWSC club members only!!!

Sign up fee is $40 for 6 month journey. We will take a second journey following the completion of the first one.

To read more about the concept of PWSC, go to www.heartspunquilts.com and click on the PWSC info.

Please join us - we know you will enjoy. Begins Thursday, March 15.
